Advanced Therapy Center provides compassionate psychological care paired with clinical rigor. Under the direction of Dr. Mark Lovinger, Ph.D., our practice delivers specialized services for individuals, couples, and families. With over two decades of experience, we serve clients from Northeast Ohio and beyond, offering both in-person and secure telehealth appointments.
Our services focus on two main areas:
Clinical Therapy: We offer evidence-based treatment for individuals, couples, and families, supporting skill development, addressing challenges, and promoting well-being. Our approach includes an advanced understanding of psychopharmacology, allowing for collaboration with prescribing physicians to ensure coordinated care.
Forensic & Family Law Services: child centered custody and parenting evaluations, forensic/ mental health evaluations , mental competency evaluations, consultation to attorneys and courts and provide court testimony when required to provide information to assist judges in family law matters

Meet
Dr. Mark Lovinger
Licensed Clinical and Forensic Psychologist.
Dr. Mark Lovinger is a clinical and forensic psychologist and the Clinical Director of Advanced Therapy Center. He provides evidence-based therapy for adults, couples, and families, and offers specialized forensic services for family law matters, including comprehensive custody evaluations and expert court testimony.
At the heart of his work is a commitment to fostering a supportive environment where clients can gain clarity and work toward greater resilience. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Lovinger has experience as an educator in the field of psychology and maintains a focus on advancing mental health care through his practice.
Educational Background & Credentials
- Lovinger earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Case Western Reserve University in 1986, where he received the Ohio Senate Honorary Award for Clinical Research.
- He also holds an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Case Western Reserve University and a B.A. in Psychology from Yeshiva University, graduating magna cum laude.
- In 2021, he advanced his expertise by earning an MSCP in Clinical Psychopharmacology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University.
- Dr. Lovinger is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in the State of Ohio and holds certificates from the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (2011) and as an Approved Parent Coordinator, per Supreme Court Guidelines (2018).
- These academic achievements underpin his nearly 40-year career in clinical practice and his role as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

Child & Family Psychology
We support the emotional and developmental well-being of children and families through evaluations and personalized treatment plans. Services address behavioral issues, family dynamics, eating disorders, Tourette’s syndrome, PTSD, and ADHD. When appropriate, we collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, and other related service providers to ensure a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to care.
Divorce & Custody Services
We provide child custody evaluations, parent coordination, and divorce-related therapy, focusing on creating cooperative environments that prioritize children’s best interests and help families navigate the complexities of separation and divorce.
Forensic Psychology
Dr. Lovinger provides forensic assessments for child custody disputes, court-ordered evaluations, and other legal matters, and provides consultation to attorneys and courts. He conducts objective and professional evaluations, including assessments of competence to stand trial and risk of re-offending, to assist attorneys and courts in making informed legal determinations and resolving parenting disputes.
Adult Mental Health
We provide treatment for adults experiencing mood disorders, personality disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. Our integrative approach utilizes a range of therapeutic modalities to address each client’s individual needs and support their mental health.

While treatment is primarily provided in English, Advanced Therapy Center welcomes clients from all backgrounds and is committed to culturally sensitive care that respects individual differences and values.

Advanced Therapy Center is conveniently located in Beachwood, Ohio. Our services are provided on a self-pay basis. We can supply documentation to assist you in seeking insurance reimbursement for eligible therapeutic services; however, legal services such as custody and forensic evaluations, as well as other court-related assessments, are not reimbursable by insurance.
